From October 16th to October 31st, Henning Haahr Andersen (University of Aarhus, Denmark) will give a 6-classes course. Its titel and abstract are the following:

On quantum groups, tilting modules and fusion categories

Abstract: The aim of these lectures is to derive and discuss fusion rules in the representation theory for quantum groups at roots of unity. We will begin by a quick introduction to quantum groups and their representations. In particular, we shall present some of the main ingredients in hte representation theory for these algebras in the case where the quantum parameter is a complex root of unity. This will involve induction functors and their higher derived functors, Weyl modules and their duals, as well as tilting modules. Then we shall consider how to decompose tensor products of tilting modules and explore the fusion rules associated with this problem.

The day, time as well as place where the course will take place can be found in the table below. Please let us know if you are interested in the course but the schedule is inconvenient for you.

This seminar is organized by the Research Group of Lie Theory. It addresses both the current Lie theory as well as issues of algebra and geometry in which Lie theory has had some impact (vertex algebras, Hopf algebras, quantum groups, etc.).As a general rule, professors from other universities working in the area and visiting our faculty, are often invited to give a talk at the seminar. Besides, local researchers expose here their latest results. For more information about the lectures visit our web page Seminario de Lie in Novedades FaMAF.For any questions, suggestions or information please contact:Oscar Brega
